A little more about us:

Paran is located approximately one-half mile off State Road 100 at 125 Paran Church Road near the community of Grandin. Paran Cemetery, which adjoins the church, has gravesites dating back to the mid-1800’s. It is filled with azaleas and dogwood trees, and surrounds the church with color in the spring.Paran Baptist Church was founded by the Rev. E.B. Timmons, William Johnson and M.N. Strickland on the first Sunday in October 1856. Rev. Timmons was the first pastor of the church. There have been three church buildings on the property. The first was a log cabin. The present day building was dedicated on September 9, 1904, and stands on the exact location of the original log cabin. The building has cathedral arched windows and a steeple with a bell. The bell still rings out on Sundays and Wednesdays to call the congregation to worship. Paran Baptist is one of the oldest churches in Putnam County, and continues as an active congregation dedicated to the service of God.
